The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is inviting all current E-Verify users to join the E-Verify Tutorial Listening Session on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, from 11:00:00 AM PDT to 12:00:00 PM Pacific / 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern.
E-Verify users attending the E-Verify Tutorial Listening Session will have the opportunity to give feedback about their experience with the current E-Verify tutorial and how the USCIS might improve it. Questions asked about the tutorial will include:
- What can the USCIS do to improve the E-Verify tutorial?
- What is the most confusing element of the E-Verify tutorial?
- How much more or less detail should the E-Verify tutorial have?
- What would the ideal E-Verify tutorial look like?
- How can the USCIS meet expectations of the E-Verify tutorial?
E-Verify users should register soon to participate in the session since space is limited. Registrants will receive a confirmation email containing additional details needed to join the session. Click here to register for the E-Verify Tutorial Listening Session.
E-Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information from an employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Social Security Administration (SSA) records to confirm employment eligibility.
According to the USCIS – the government agency that oversees lawful immigration to the United States – E-Verify is used by more than 600,000 employers nationwide at more than 1.9 million hiring sites. To learn more, visit www.uscis.gov/e-verify.
In September 2016, ESR News reported that the USCIS will publish a revised version of the Form I-9 by November 22, 2016. Employers may use the current version of the Form I-9 with a revision date of 03/08/2013 N until January 21, 2017.
