The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) – the government agency that oversees lawful immigration to the United States – has announced testing for the new E-Verify Mobile App (“Application”) for employment eligibility verification of workers.
During the 90-day test period, up to 2,000 E-Verify users can use the App to create and manage cases on their iPads and report performance time through the Apple TestFlight feedback tool, according to the bulletin sent by the USCIS on April 27, 2016.
The E-Verify Mobile App is safe and secure and does not compromise the personal information of employees. In the event of a photo mismatch query, the iPad camera may be used to temporarily capture images of documents that prove work authorization.
The test will provide more information on how users interact with and use E-Verify and influence future mobile products. E-Verify users with a 2nd or 3rd generation Apple iPad and want to participate should email MobileE-Verify@uscis.dhs.gov by May 4, 2016.
E-Verify is a free Internet-based system that helps employers confirm the eligibility of new employees to work in the United States. According to the USCIS, E-Verify is used by more than 600,000 U.S. employer. To learn more, visit www.uscis.gov/e-verify/.
As reported earlier by ESR News, the USCIS announced a series of enhancements to make the USCIS website and online E-Verify program easier to use on mobile devices. Visitors to uscis.gov and uscis.gov/es will find both websites easier to read and use.
